Inspired by her home filled with love and laughter, Fenella Smith brought together a passion for ceramics with a desire to produce elegant, useful and quirky home wares. Each collection is inspired by times gone by; each with a personal tale to tell. From innocent childhood pleasures or a drawer-full of dreams. Fenella collaborates with her brother Greg (one half of Brothers McLeod) to create the playful animal illustrations that bring each of the stories to life!
I’ve been working with Fenella for a few years now, evolving the visual identity graphically and supporting the brand across the entire range; from product development to sales tools and marketing materials. I’ve designed seasonal look books, in-store point of sale and social media campaigns to name but a few.
Most recently we have launched packaging design for the ceramics to elevate the brand and market position. With a cut out aperture on the design we were able to showcase the product design whilst keeping an elegantly simple box printed in two Pantone colours.
Since starting in 2011, Fenella’s Henley-on-Thames studio has moved from strength to strength developing ceramics, fabrics and stationery collections stocked up and down the country in retailers large and small including: John Lewis, Fortnam & Mason and Liberty London.
