Winter Berry tea collaboration

Following the positive feedback from my branded notebook and totes last year I wanted to design a little Christmas gift for my clients with more of a story. I work with so many brilliant brands so the idea came about from how I can showcase not only myself but also the talented people and products I work with. A little celebration of my creative partnerships!

I approached Marina, the founder of organic tea brand Nipper & Co who I’ve worked with since 2017 and she was thrilled at the idea of a mini festive promo collaboration. We get on so well so for both of us it was an exciting opportunity to combine my design skills with her expert tea knowledge and create something for fun.

Whilst I explored papers and boxes, Marina had created a delicious limited edition Winter Berry blend. Nipper & Co pride themselves on their biodegradable tea pyramids so we wanted to ensure the packaging was eco-friendly too. As we’d be posting these out to clients, buyers and partners we wanted to ensure the final result fitted through a letterbox too (we all know how annoying post office delivery office queues are at Christmas!).

After rounds of prototyping and samples, we decided upon a simple kraft pouch to hold 10 tea pyramids. We’d sourced some that have a starch lining which ticked all our boxes (plastic-free, biodegradable, letterbox friendly, resealable) and as we were only producing a limited run (approx 250) it meant it was a cost-effective solution too.

For the design, I hand-painted a series of winter berry illustrations and applied to the label artwork. To make the gift extra special I worked with my wonderful suppliers at Cotton Barons to produce an OEKO-TEX certified and reusable cotton pouch.  You may recognise the Christmas cards from my previous post too!

As with all my work, the most rewarding feeling is seeing it in the wild…
